Took some time over the weekend to play around with the "vibe code" concept, and here's what I found using Codeium's Windsurf:
1. A few months ago, these tools weren't great—honestly, pretty rough. Now? Huge improvement. They actually help boost productivity.
2. That said, you still need solid expertise. I tested them specifically in a Laravel/Inertia/React context, and while the generated code was often useful, it still needed reviewing and tweaking.
3. If you haven't tried them recently, give them another shot. They're not perfect, but they're becoming surprisingly useful.
4. Working with these LLMs is a skill in itself—good prompting makes a huge difference.
