They think they could put it back later, and don't realize it could be done with source code control.
We’re afraid that it might be important and we will need to put it back and don’t want to forget where it was :D
For me, back when I was doing it, the thought of it being in the projects version control didn't cross my mind 😂 We are also better at adding stuff, than subtracting, so deleting previous work is a bit challenging.

Sometimes I need to do some quick changes and I forget to delete the code afterwards.
Same reason I still have that shirt from high school that has a hole in it, I ‘spose. It’s cozy, comfortable, and I don’t know if I’ll remember it when it’s gone.
