Hello Pinkary! 👋

I'm excited to finally join and make my first post here.

One of my goals is to improve my PHP and Laravel skills, share what I learn, and hopefully contribute something useful to the community. Joining an English-speaking community is a bit outside my comfort zone, and the language barrier is still a challenge for me, but I wanted to take the first step anyway.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you, exchanging ideas, and becoming part of this awesome community. 😊

That's a great question.

Recently I've been learning quite a bit about:
1. Laravel architecture: especially Action classes, ADR, and how to keep applications maintainable as they grow.
2. Testing: I'm trying to write more tests with Pest and think about testing earlier in the development process.
3. Stepping outside my comfort zone here: joining an English-speaking community like Pinkary is part of that. It's a small step, but an important one for me.

Good stuff to learn! Are you new to programming or just Laravel?
For me, I've been learning a lot this year - mostly more "feeling" things - things like how to have more humility - and stop thinking people care about me as much as I care about me (e.g. if I do something silly nobody actually cares - so I need to get over it). I'm also learning a lot about sales and marketing - selling a B2B app. I'm also learning so so much about diesel engines and air compressors along with lots of electronics. The list goes on. I'm in firehose mode right now.

Late last week I was figuring out how to pull this air-end off this big diesel motor. Never done one before - and just had to figure it out. It's always fun when a crane is involved.

I have been interested in how software works since my school days. My first experiences came from finding the source code of websites more exciting than the website itself. Through my professional career (I worked as a truck driver and mechanic…) and the growth of my family, however, this interest gradually moved more and more into the background.
Just over two years ago, I consciously decided that I wanted to reactivate and nurture this interest. My first step was a Laracast membership, and now I am on this journey.
So, to answer your question: I have been active before. But in terms of depth and breadth, I am currently learning a lot of fundamental things about programming through my study of PHP/Laravel-specific topics.

From my time when I had “diesel in my blood,” I can empathize with you – fantastic. I wish you many more such moments of success and enthusiasm.
