What was your first bat swing business wise? And looking back at it, would you have done something differently? If so, what would you have changed from that endeavor?
I had a bunch of products I half started before HelpSpot but that's 20yrs ago and can't really recall what I would change tbh. Just keep going!
What was your biggest pet peeve or, alternatively, the thing that set someone apart that you saw when reading all those HypeSheets?
A HypeSheet written for the specific job is painfully obvious. It references details in the job listing and how the candidate fits into them. What excites them about the job specifically. How their background will be a value to the demands of the job.
The really great ones also find the right tone. If they've researched me a bit they're then able to dial it in towards being less stuffy, less corporate, though not all the way to yolo. The tone is overall less important though then that the info is specific and of course that you have relevant skills/experience.
Writing the HypeSheet will actually often give you a good idea yourself on if you're a good fit for the job. If you're honest with yourself as you go are you having to fudge your skills/experience a bit for what was listed or do you fit it like a glove truly.
I’ve been thinking about what you said regarding resumes and had an idea. Aaron could build a website on his stream to sell resume cheat sheets. You would, of course, create the cheat sheets, and people could buy them for a reasonable price. Why not?
That would be fun, but there is a lot of stuff out there like that, I think, already. To me, the HypeSheets™️ are the part that people have forgotten about to their detriment.
What do you normally eat for breakfast?
Breakfast is the most annoying meal really. I often have some kind of eggs. Sometimes yogurt type things.
