π I'm giving Pinkary a go as an alternative to Twitter/X. Nice to meet you all!
I feel like marketing of it needs to change to show that having links is now one of the minor features and it's more like old twitter now.
I think Robbo is talking about the homepage, perhaps it should emphasise the social media side of it. Great app Nuno!
"One link, all your socials.". If I didn't follow you I would never have known there are any actual social media features on here. Also feels like this is more than just "ask and answer" questions now.
I'm kind of sad that it has to be a new app again - because Mastodon and or Bluesky would be such alternatives and are already more established. And at the same time, I'm just very happy to see a movement away from X - Long overdue if you ask me
I like the more focused nature of Pinkary so far.
Tried all the others and in the end haven't stuck with any myself.
Focused in the sense that it's basically just a part of the "Tech-Twitter bubble"?
Of course, that may also have its advantages.
More the Laravel bubble specifically, yeah.
I've tried the other platforms. Never stuck with any of them. Enough of the community is still on X to make it worthwhile so long as I stick with the Following feed (though for me personally the For You feed did finally become more relevant post-acquisition).
It's too scattered on other platforms in various ways. I'd rather be in something super niche like Pinkary or community Slack/Discord groups and avoid larger socials entirely.
